Further revealing how he fought to do music Davido said that his house trend was to go to school and work for his Dad after school.

Davido who further revealed that his becoming Davido was not as a result of help from his dad said:

I was broke broke man it’s not fun do you know why most rich people pikin no get money. You know why? It is because they don’t feel the need to work or aspire or want to be something. My mum died when I was 11, I’m the last born of 5 kids. So from a young age, I know what I wanted to do. I fought to do this music. I come from a family where it is school, when you finish school, go and work for popsy so music is something I had to fight for and work hard for. To become Davido wasn’t anything like say popsy help me. Of course, my dad has played a very key role in my career for sure as a mentor, a supporter and everything but I feel like no matter who you are, no matter the background you come from you have to work.
