Nigerian superstar Davido has apologised to fans after failing to appear at a scheduled performance in Lagos, blaming unexpected aviation fuel challenges for the disruption.

The singer was billed to headline an event at Secret Place Ikate Elegushi alongside Zlatan Ibile as part of the venue’s fifth anniversary celebration. However, despite a strong turnout of fans, Davido was unable to make it to the show.
Reactions quickly followed both at the venue and online, as attendees waited for the award-winning artist who never took the stage.
Addressing the situation the following day via Instagram, Davido explained that the setback was beyond his control, linking it to broader logistical issues affecting travel.
“The world happened to me yesterday. These wars around the world have really started penetrating. Finding fuel was a problem yesterday to even fly. Everything had to be rescheduled,” he said.
He went on to express regret to fans who showed up for the performance, assuring them that efforts are already underway to make up for the missed appearance.
“To my fans that pulled up… sorry I missed it. We’re going to run it back again soon,” he added.
Davido also extended congratulations to the organisers of the event, reaffirming his support while promising a return at a later date.
The incident highlights growing concerns around aviation fuel supply and rising operational costs, issues that have begun to affect flight schedules and logistics in different parts of the world, with ripple effects now reaching the entertainment scene.
