Popular Nigerian singer L.A.X, born Damilola Abdul Razaq Afolabi, has stepped into a new chapter outside music after being officially appointed as executive director of SIFAX Logistics, a subsidiary of his family’s conglomerate, SIFAX Group.

The announcement was made on April 10, 2026, via the company’s official Instagram page, coinciding with the singer’s 33rd birthday celebration.
In the post, SIFAX Logistics confirmed his new leadership role and praised his dedication, discipline, and commitment to excellence—an announcement that quickly generated reactions across social media.
Before his rise in entertainment, L.A.X built a strong academic foundation, earning both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree from the University of Salford in Manchester. His journey into music began after returning to Nigeria, where he was introduced to Wizkid through celebrity stylist Toyin Lawani, a moment that helped shape the early direction of his career.
He later broke into the mainstream with his 2018 debut album Rasaking, which featured heavyweight collaborations with artists such as Davido, Maleek Berry, Duncan Mighty, and Yemi Alade. Over the years, he has remained a familiar name in Afrobeats, delivering records like Gbefun, Panana, Ginger, and Go Low.
Now, with this latest appointment, L.A.X is expanding his influence beyond entertainment into the corporate space, signaling a rare blend of music and business leadership.
The announcement also came with a celebratory message from SIFAX Group, which read:
“Happy Birthday to Damilola Afolabi, Executive Director, SIFAX Logistics. Thank you for your leadership and commitment to delivering excellence. Wishing you a year filled with good health, happiness, and all the best things life has to offer.”

Behind the scenes, SIFAX Group is led by Chairman Taiwo Afolabi, a prominent industrialist with major investments spanning shipping, aviation, hospitality, and logistics. His conglomerate includes assets such as Lagos Marriott Hotel Ikeja, Skyway Aviation Handling Company, and key port operations across Nigeria and beyond.
With this new role, L.A.X now finds himself balancing two worlds—Afrobeats stardom and corporate leadership—marking a unique evolution in his already multifaceted career.
