Award-winning Nigerian superstar Wizkid has finally reacted after his surprise Coachella 2026 appearance alongside Justin Bieber and Tems sent social media into a frenzy.

The unforgettable moment happened on Saturday, April 11, 2026, during Coachella 2026, where Justin Bieber, who was headlining the night, brought both Nigerian stars on stage for a live performance of Essence (Remix).
The song, originally a global smash from Wizkid’s Made in Lagos (Deluxe) era, already featured Bieber on the official remix alongside Tems. But seeing all three perform it together live on one of the world’s biggest festival stages instantly became one of the defining highlights of the night.
The performance quickly went viral, drawing reactions from fans and public figures alike, including Bayo Onanuga, special adviser to President Bola Tinubu on information and strategy, who praised the record while questioning its Grammy loss, tweeting: “Still wondering why Essence did not win a Grammy. Great song, great rhythm!”
Days after the buzz, Wizkid broke his silence in his own understated style. On April 13, 2026, he took to Instagram to share a three-slide post featuring images from the performance, including moments with Bieber and Tems.
He also soundtracked the post with Essence (Remix), letting the music speak for itself rather than adding a lengthy caption.
The reaction adds another layer to what has already become one of Afrobeats’ most talked-about global crossover moments, proof of how far the record has traveled since its original release and how deeply it still resonates years later.
