Popular Nigerian singer Peter Okoye, famously known as Mr. P, took a moment to look back on his early football journey while sharing words of inspiration with his fans.
In a throwback video featuring himself alongside Nigerian football legend John Obi Mikel, Mr P encouraged followers to never give up on their dreams, revealing that he once balanced his passion for football with his budding music career.
He recounted that during his time in Jos, he was offered a chance to join Plateau United FC from the Pepsi Academy, but his ultimate goal was to play professional football in Europe. Fate, however, had other plans, steering him toward a successful music career instead.
“NEVER GIVE UP!📌 Yes, I used to play football and chase music at the same time… I was even offered the chance to play for Plateau United F.C from Pepsi Academy back then in Jos. But my dream was always to play in Europe. ⚽✨ Somehow, destiny chose the mic instead. 🎤 Today, I’m an established and successful artiste/musician. 😇🙏🏽 That’s nothing but grace. #OGforever,” he shared.
Mr P’s reflection highlights the unpredictable paths life can take, showing how dedication and resilience in multiple passions can lead to success — even if the destination turns out differently than originally imagined.
