‘I Go Wiser On My Own’: Adekunle Gold Gives Fans First Listen and Hints at Stormzy Collab
Nigerian Afrobeats sensation Adekunle Gold, also known as AG Baby, has given fans a first taste of his unreleased song I Go Wiser On My Own, hinting at a possible collaboration with UK grime star Stormzy.
During a recent interview on Capital Xtra, Adekunle Gold described the track as a “gem” still in progress.
The snippet showcases his signature melodic style, introspective lyrics, and a fusion of soulful vocals with African rhythms. Some lines, delivered in English and Nigerian Pidgin, include: “I move with the mind of a soldier” and “Don’t wear my heart on my sleeve, I wear it on a white tee.”
The singer expressed his wish for Stormzy to join the project, noting the British rapper’s lyrical skill as crucial to the song’s impact. “When I wrote it, I’m like, I need somebody that can talk. And Stormzy, of course. Prayers, hopefully we can get that done,” he said.
Fans have reacted with excitement to the preview, eagerly anticipating both the finished track and the potential pairing of two major global music talents on one record.
