Nigerian music superstar Davido has set social media abuzz with a series of cryptic posts on X (formerly Twitter), seemingly aimed at critics and industry rivals.

The timing of the messages, however, has sparked speculation, coming just as fellow Afrobeats icon Burna Boy finds himself under fire for an unusual incident at a U.S. concert.
Davido’s posts carried a fiery edge. He wrote, “Dey fool yourself … my head go soon catch you everybody go collect from my God,” and even resurrected an old 2024 tweet, warning, “Anybody wey do me bad go collect this year one by one just Dey watch … e don start already.”
In another post, he added, “Evil human beings … You will learn,” leaving fans and observers guessing about the intended targets.
The messages appeared shortly after Burna Boy faced backlash over a moment during a U.S. performance, where a viral video captured him pausing mid-show to confront a female fan who seemed to be sleeping in the front row.
The woman was later escorted out by her companion, but the clip reignited debates online about the singer’s behaviour toward fans especially after an older clip resurfaced in which he stated he prefers “rich fans” and insisted he does not beg anyone for support.
While Davido has not explicitly linked his cryptic remarks to Burna Boy’s controversy, the timing has done little to quell speculation, with fans and commentators buzzing across social media platforms.
