Olamide Shares How He Deals with Criticism: “It’s Now Left for You to Be Focus”

Nigerian music star Olamide Adedeji, popularly known as Olamide Baddo, has opened up about how he navigates the inevitable wave of negative criticisms that come with success.
The ‘Wo’ hitmaker acknowledged that no matter how successful someone becomes—or how much they aspire to greatness—it’s impossible to escape people talking.
In a recent livestream, Olamide offered his take on handling critics, stressing the importance of staying focused.
He said, “If you want to blow or be great in life and you don’t want people to talk about you, then you’re not ready. People will come for you and chat sht about you, it’s now left for you to be focus.”*
The rapper’s words serve as a reminder that resilience and concentration are key when building a lasting career in the spotlight.
In other news, Olamide stepped into the long-running debate that constantly pits Afrobeats heavyweights Wizkid, Davido, and Burna Boy against one another.
The rapper offered a calm, measured take on the fan-driven rivalry that frequently spirals into heated online arguments, especially over who ranks higher or holds greater influence.
Speaking on the matter, Olamide reminded fans that greatness isn’t determined by social media classifications. He noted that whether an artist is branded A-list, B-list or any other label, such tags do little to change their true impact or the legacy they are building.
He urged listeners to celebrate their favourites without dragging others, stressing that the Nigerian music scene is vast enough for multiple stars to shine at once. According to him, “there’s plenty of room in the sky for everyone.”
