D’banj Says His C.R.E.A.M Platform Now Valued at $3bn, Shares Philosophy Behind His Success

Veteran Nigerian entertainer and music executive Oladapo Daniel Oyebanjo, famously known as D’banj, has revealed that his talent discovery and content distribution platform, C.R.E.A.M. (Creative, Reality, Entertainment, Arts, Music), has grown to an estimated valuation of $3 billion.
The Kokomaster made the revelation during an appearance on The Micon Podcast with journalist Seun Okinbaloye, where he opened up about the mindset that has shaped his two-decade-long career and his transition from artiste to full-fledged business figure.
D’banj explained that from his earliest days in the industry, he never saw himself as just a musician. Instead, he intentionally embraced a broader identity a move he believes shielded him from the pressure of fitting into a narrow creative box.
“I discovered early that I didn’t have to box myself in. I never called myself a singer or rapper. I saw myself as an entertainer — I don’t need to always sing to entertain,” he said.
According to him, the global success of Oliver Twist validated this approach, pushing him toward a more expansive understanding of what it meant to be an entertainer.
He said the song’s international explosion convinced him that performance, presence, and creativity carried just as much weight as vocals.
D’banj also highlighted that many of the world’s biggest stars achieve long-term wealth not by relying solely on music, but by building strong businesses, diversifying income streams, and leveraging their influence into other sectors.
He pointed to his own entrepreneurial path as proof, noting the rise of the C.R.E.A.M platform — a venture he now values at $3 billion.
“That’s the real game,” he said, underscoring the importance of vision and business strategy for entertainers hoping to compete globally.
D’banj’s remarks reinforce his consistent call for African artists to embrace innovation, technology, and long-term business thinking instead of depending solely on streaming numbers or performance bookings.
“There is no artiste on Forbe List that made it through music alone. My C.R.E.A.M platform is worth $3Billion”
