The unlikely but magical pairing of Atlanta rapper Gunna and Afrobeats giant Wizkid is still paying dividends.
Their joint single Forever Be Mine has just crossed 200,000 units sold in the US, a major landmark for a track that effortlessly weaves Southern rap swagger with the smooth textures of Afrobeats.

Since its release, the record has been a crowd favourite, winning hearts with its hypnotic rhythm, Gunna’s signature laid-back flow, and Wizkid’s silky vocals.
That it has already cleared the 200K mark says plenty not just about its replay value, but also about how strongly Afrobeats continues to sink roots in the American market. With momentum still climbing, the single is fast becoming one of 2025’s standout cross-continental collaborations.

But that’s not all, making headlines for the “fukumean” rapper. Gunna recently revealed his dream lineup ahead of the NFL and YouTube Celebrity Flag Football Game, set for London on Saturday, October 11.
In a short clip released Tuesday, September 30, 2025, the rapper showed he was thinking global, not just local. His roster isn’t just packed with US rap heavyweights, it also pulls in Afrobeats royalty.
The squad features Roddy Ricch, Offset, and three African superstars: Burna Boy, Wizkid, and Asake. True to form, Gunna also included himself as the sixth and final player, rounding off what looks like a powerhouse team.
Fans will get to see Team Gunna square up in London under the bright lights, with English rapper Aitch holding co-captain duties for the opposing side. Judging by the star power on display, the pitch is set for fireworks both on and off the field.
