Davido addresses the viral clip of a fan slapping his head in Warri

Afrobeats megastar Davido has addressed a trending video from his recent visit to Warri, Delta State, which sparked heated online debates after it appeared he was slapped by a fan.
In the widely circulated clip, the singer was seen moving through a crowd with his security team when a sudden hit to the back of his head made him pause and glance back in surprise.
While some critics online quickly mocked the moment, loyal members of his 30BG fanbase expressed outrage at what they viewed as blatant disrespect.
The video gained momentum after influencer @AsakyGRN reposted it on X (formerly Twitter) with the caption: “Warri people no get joy oo. See dem sl@p Davido for head.”
Breaking his silence, Davido clarified that contrary to the viral narrative, he was not attacked by a fan. Instead, the unexpected hit came from one of his own security personnel, who accidentally struck him while trying to hold back the surging crowd.
Dismissing the influencer’s claim, the singer called out @AsakyGRN, writing: “Mumu that was my security .. hit me by mistake .. saddist.”
The clarification has since calmed speculations, with fans praising Davido for handling the incident with composure.
