South African sensation Tyla has dropped her latest project, WWP (We Wanna Party), a vibrant four-track EP released through FAX and Epic Records.

Fusing Amapiano, Afrobeats, R&B, and mainstream pop, the collection features Bliss, Is It, Mr. Media, and the highly anticipated collaboration Dynamite with Nigerian Afrobeats titan Wizkid.

Coming on the heels of her Grammy-winning breakout hit Water, WWP reaffirms Tyla’s status as a fearless global star while staying rooted in the rhythmic pulse of South Africa.

The project is a sonic celebration of joy and cultural pride, curated with the help of elite producers including P.Priime, Sammy Soso, and Ari PenSmith.

The title, “We Wanna Party,” is a nod to a popular South African chant that Tyla says reflects a spirit of uninhibited fun and vibrant community, which she calls “enjoyment with people that are a vibe.”

Bliss and Is It, previously released as lead singles, laid the groundwork for the EP’s sound and swagger. Bliss, which made its debut at Coachella, is an uplifting banger built on infectious percussion and catchy melodies. Is It, on the other hand, taps into Tyla’s edgier side, with a confident tone underscored by the defiant line: “Is it the fvcks that I don’t give?” Both singles have since ignited viral dance challenges and further cemented her as a pop culture force.

Dynamite, arguably the centerpiece of the EP, brings Tyla and Wizkid together in a cross-continental musical fusion. Revived from a 2022 demo, the song radiates flirtatious energy as the two artists glide effortlessly over an Afro-fusion beat.

Tyla’s smooth chorus “Your body bang like dynamite” has already become a fan favorite, while Wizkid’s laid-back charm adds weight and international polish to the record.

Closing the EP is Mr. Media, a fiery track aimed at critics and gossipmongers. With biting lyrics and fluid vocal transitions, Tyla asserts her autonomy while showcasing the full range of her vocal power.

The EP’s overall sound is cohesive yet daring—designed for global dance floors but grounded in African groove.

WWP captures a pivotal moment in Tyla’s career, as she pushes past boundaries and expectations. Following the success of her historic debut and becoming the highest-charting African female solo act on the Billboard Hot 100, this EP is another leap forward.

conversations around the origins of the EP’s title chant have surfaced online, the music itself has resonated broadly, with fans embracing its lively beats and empowering messages.

With WWP, Tyla continues to redefine pop stardom from an African perspective, merging local authenticity with global appeal.
