Ola Aina Names His Top 4 Afrobeats Artists

Super Eagles defender Ola Aina has waded into the ongoing debate about Nigeria’s top Afrobeats artists, sharing his ranking in a recent episode of The Inside Scope podcast.

The Nottingham Forest star listed Burna Boy, Wizkid, Davido, and Asake as his top four, explaining his choices in detail:

“Burna Boy is number one because whatever he drops is going to bang. So that’s why he’s number one. It may be a little bit biased but he’s there.”

“Second is Wizkid. Wizkid would have been first, but I think that would have just been the nostalgia kicking in because lately, he has been overtaken.”

“Davido is third because he drops a lot of songs, so definitely, there would be a few bangers.”

“Asake is only last in the group because he’s fairly new. He makes hits. In a few years, he will be at the top.”

With Burna Boy’s Grammy-winning artistry, Wizkid’s global dominance, Davido’s consistency, and Asake’s meteoric rise, Aina’s ranking is bound to stir heated discussions among fans.

As music lovers share their own takes, the debate rages on—who truly holds the crown in Afrobeats?
