Portuguese playmaker Joao Felix has opened up about his Chelsea future amid a promising start to his loan spell at AC Milan.

Despite netting seven goals in 20 appearances across all competitions for Chelsea this season, Félix was limited to just three Premier League starts, leaving him frustrated over his lack of consistent playing time. His dissatisfaction paved the way for a January move to Milan, who secured him on a season-long loan for a reported £5 million.

The 25-year-old has wasted no time making his mark in Serie A, scoring on his debut in Milan’s 3-1 win over Roma. His early performances suggest a renewed sense of enjoyment in his football, and his recent comments hint at the possibility of making Italy his long-term home.

“For now, I’m on loan until June, we’ll see how it goes,” Félix told reporters. “I’m loving everything—the club, the people, the infrastructure. My family and I have been warmly welcomed, and I want to be somewhere I feel good. Football is unpredictable, but if the opportunity arises to stay, I’d like that.”

Félix also paid tribute to his football idol, Brazilian legend Kaká, a revered figure in Milan’s history with a Serie A title, Champions League triumph, and Ballon d’Or to his name.

“My favorite player has always been Kaká. I’ve spoken about him before and even met him in the U.S. during an interview,” he shared. “He’s my idol, but I wouldn’t compare myself to him. However, I’d love to leave my mark at AC Milan too.”

Meanwhile, Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca appears unfazed by Félix’s departure, even as his side struggles for goals. Their FA Cup elimination at the hands of Brighton—where their only goal came from an own goal—highlighted their attacking woes, especially considering Brighton had conceded seven against Nottingham Forest just a week prior.

“I don’t think we miss João,” Maresca remarked. “He’s happy at AC Milan, and we’re happy that he’s happy there.”

As Milan gears up for a crucial Champions League round of 16 clash against Feyenoord on Wednesday, Félix will look to continue his strong form.

Should his performances remain consistent, talks of a permanent move to the Rossoneri could intensify ahead of the summer transfer window.
