Kendrick Lamar made history at the Super Bowl halftime show with a groundbreaking 12-minute performance that solidified his place as one of the greatest rappers of all time.

The Compton rapper became the first solo hip-hop act to headline the event, delivering an electrifying set featuring hits like ‘HUMBLE.,’ ‘Loyalty,’ and ‘Money Trees.’ Oscar-nominated actor Samuel L. Jackson introduced Lamar in a dramatic opening, setting the stage for what would be an unforgettable performance.

A major highlight of the night was Lamar bringing out SZA for a stunning performance of their hit collaboration ‘All The Stars.’ Jackson, serving as the performance’s narrator, guided the rapper through the set, ensuring the audience got exactly what they came for.

However, the moment that truly sent shockwaves through the stadium was Lamar’s unexpected performance of his Drake diss track ‘Not Like Us.’

Initially teasing that he wouldn’t perform it—saying, “I want to perform their favorite song, but you know they love to sue”—he ultimately gave in to the crowd’s demand, declaring, “This is what the people want.” He toned down certain controversial lyrics but kept the energy high, delivering a powerful rendition of the song that has defined one of the biggest rap feuds in recent history.

Adding to the spectacle, tennis legend and Drake’s former romantic partner Serena Williams made a surprise appearance, cryptically crip-walking on a lamppost as Lamar celebrated another victory lap over his rap rival.

This Super Bowl performance comes just a week after Lamar dominated the 67th Grammys, winning five awards, including ‘Song of the Year‘ and ‘Record of the Year‘ for ‘Not Like Us.’ With this latest triumph, Lamar continues to set the bar for hip-hop and live performances on a global stage.
