Shallipopi boasts about his next album and hints at collaboration with American star
Shallipopi is brimming with confidence ahead of his upcoming album, set to drop in 2025. The rapper shared his excitement on Snapchat, posting a screenshot of a video call with American star Swae Lee.
In the post, Shallipopi declared, “Album finna make you scared,” suggesting that his next project is complete and ready to make waves. The potential collaboration with Swae Lee has fans buzzing, as the award-winning artist is known to be a passionate admirer of Afrobeats.
The highly anticipated album will include tracks like “Free Service” and “Order,” featuring Olamide, setting the stage for what could be a defining moment in Shallipopi’s career.
This project follows his 2023 album ‘Shakespopi,’ which, despite the success of the hit single “ASAP,” faced criticism for its lacklustre songwriting, repetitive delivery, and uninspired approach.
With his upcoming release, Shallipopi aims to reaffirm his place as a hitmaker, blending his Benin heritage with the Amapiano fusion that initially catapulted him into the spotlight.
However, questions linger about the label under which the album will be released. The rapper recently parted ways with Dapper Music, citing issues such as financial transparency, conflicts of interest, and attempts to bind him to an indefinite contract.
As Shallipopi works to reclaim his spot at the top, fans eagerly await what promises to be a bold new chapter in his musical journey.
