Mercy Chinwo and Husband, Pastor Blessed, Spread Festive Joy in Port Harcourt Community
Renowned gospel artist Mercy Chinwo and her husband, Pastor Blessed Uzochikwa, have brought hope and joy to the Rumudara community in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, with a generous outreach initiative.
On December 30, 2024, the couple, through their ‘Mercy Is Blessed Foundation,’ extended a hand of kindness by distributing essential items to residents, ensuring they experienced the festive season’s warmth and love.
Under the foundation, which operates as part of Mercy Chinwo’s Grace and Truth Nation (GNT) Music Label, beneficiaries received various items, including bags of rice, garri, cartons of tomato paste, tubers of yam, clothing materials, and cash gifts.
The act of kindness was especially targeted at the elderly, single mothers, and disadvantaged members of the community.
Pastor Blessed Uzochikwa highlighted the Christian foundation of their gesture, stating, “The central goal of Christ is love, and He is the reason for the season. According to John 3:16, giving is the DNA of love. It says, ‘For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.’”
He further explained that the foundation’s mission goes beyond meeting immediate needs. “Love is about giving, and that is why the Mercy Is Blessed Foundation has made it a central idea to share the love of Jesus Christ with people who don’t know where their next meal would come from. The goal is not just giving them food items but empowering and establishing them to have sustainable means of income,” he added.
This thoughtful initiative reinforces the couple’s commitment to community development and spreading the love of Christ, especially during the festive season.
