Timi Dakolo, Yemi Alade, D’banj, and Olamide to Perform at Africa Military Games Opening Ceremony
The 2024 Africa Military Games (AMGA) is set to kick off in grand style as Nigerian music heavyweights Timi Dakolo, Yemi Alade, D’banj, and Olamide take the stage at the opening ceremony on November 20.
The Nigerian Army announced the exciting lineup via a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Tuesday, confirming the event will be held at the MKO Abiola International Stadium in Abuja.
The tweet read: “The stage is set, and the legends are coming for the opening ceremony of #AMGA2024. Watch @Olamide, @iamdbanj, @yemialadee, and @timidakolo light up the opening ceremony like never before. It’s happening tomorrow.”

The Africa Military Games, now in its second edition, will run from November 18 to 30. This year’s event will feature over 3,000 athletes from 48 African nations competing in 19 different sports categories.
Both male and female athletes will showcase their talents in sports like football, boxing, basketball, judo, kickboxing, and combat swimming. Other activities include obstacle crossing, shooting, golf, squash, table tennis, taekwondo, volleyball, wrestling, badminton, and lawn tennis, among others.
With its mix of thrilling sports and electrifying performances by some of Nigeria’s biggest music stars, the opening ceremony promises to set the tone for an unforgettable event celebrating athleticism, unity, and African culture.
