The ongoing rivalry between Drake and Kendrick Lamar has reached another milestone with Kendrick’s latest track, ‘Not Like Us,’ achieving a significant feat on Spotify. Released on May 5th, 2024, as the final installment of Kendrick’s series of diss tracks aimed at Drake, ‘Not Like Us’ has secured the title of the biggest single-day stream for a hip-hop song in the United States on Spotify.

The track garnered an impressive 6.593 million streams on its debut day, surpassing the previous record held by Drake’s 2021 single ‘Girls Want Girls‘ featuring Lil Baby. Kendrick Lamar’s ‘Not Like Us’ has thus cemented its place in Spotify history, signaling a momentous achievement in the ongoing feud between the two rap heavyweights.

The ongoing feud between rappers Kendrick Lamar and Drake has escalated dramatically, with Kendrick’s recent record-breaking achievement on Spotify adding another layer of intensity to their rivalry. For some listeners, Kendrick’s feat may be interpreted as adding insult to injury in the ongoing battle between the two artists.

Rumors of tension between Kendrick and Drake have circulated for years, but the feud became more public and contentious when Kendrick dissed Drake while featuring on Metro Boomin and Future’s track ‘Like That’ from their collaborative album ‘We Don’t Trust You.’

In response to Kendrick’s initial diss, fellow rapper J. Cole was the first to reply with ‘7th Minute Drill‘ from his surprise album ‘Might Delete Later.’ However, at his 2024 Dreamville concert, J. Cole surprised fans by publicly apologizing to Kendrick Lamar for downplaying his musical catalogue.

Drake subsequently entered the fray with his own diss tracks, ‘Push Up‘ and ‘Taylor Made Freestyle,’ prompting Kendrick to respond with ‘Euphoria’ and ‘Meet The Grahams.’

So far, the feud has produced a total of eight diss tracks, with both rappers making disturbing allegations involving themes such as pedophilia and domestic abuse. The intensity and public nature of their conflict have kept fans on the edge, eagerly awaiting each new development in this ongoing feud.
