    Nigerian singer Chike has made it clear that none of his three albums belong to the Afrobeat genre.

    Addressing his fans, Chike emphasized that “Boo of the Booless,” “The Brother’s Keeper,” and “Son of Chike” are not Afrobeat albums.

    Encouraging listeners to revisit all three albums, he urged them to discern the distinction for themselves.

    Taking to social media, Chike expressed, “BooOfTheBooless🌹 is not an Afrobeats album. TheBrothersKeeper🕊 is not an Afrobeats album. My third studio album #SonOfChike☀ is not an Afrobeats album. When you hear it, you will know!”.

    This declaration follows Wizkid’s similar statement, where he asserted his versatility across various musical genres and rejected classification under a single genre.

    Furthermore, Chike recently unveiled the official video for his hit track “Egwu,” featuring the late singer Mohbad. The vibrant visuals prominently feature Mohbad’s images throughout, serving as a tribute to the late street pop singer. Remarkably, “Egwu” garnered 1 million views within just one day of its release, attesting to its widespread appeal and impact.

    In recognition of its success, Chike was awarded the Number 1 plaque for his chart-topping song “Egwu,” featuring Mohbad. The track claimed the top position on the Official Nigeria Top 100, marking Chike’s debut entry at the pinnacle of the official singles chart in Nigeria.
