Nigerian musician Stanley Omah Didia, known as Omah Lay, has surprised fans with the announcement of a hiatus from his music career.

The ‘Soso‘ hitmaker took to his Instagram story to inform his followers that they shouldn’t anticipate any new music from him in the near future.

“I am not giving you new music anytime soon,” he wrote, without providing further explanation for his decision. However, in a separate post, Omah Lay mentioned, “I need a little more love.”

His unexpected announcement has triggered concern among many of his fans, who have expressed their worries on social media, urging the singer to reconsider his break from music.

In other news, Omah Lay’s track ‘Soso‘ claimed the title of the most-heard song on radio in Nigeria, captivating listeners across the nation. Following the success of his two outstanding EPs, Omah Lay released his debut album ‘Boy Alone‘ in 2022, featuring the hit single ‘Soso‘.

Nearly a year after its release, ‘Soso‘ surged in popularity in Nigeria, dominating both streaming platforms and radio airwaves.

According to the data released by TurnTable Charts, ‘Soso‘ secured the top spot as the most-heard song on Nigerian radio in 2023, accumulating an impressive 1.74 billion impressions. This feat places it ahead of some of the biggest hits of the year.
