Nigerian artist Stanley Omah Didia, professionally known as Omah Lay, recently opened up online about one of the reasons behind his chronic depression.
Omah Lay, who gained prominence in 2020 with his hit song “Bad Influence,” is known for his candid and sometimes troubling posts online, with many noting his apparent lack of happiness or smiles.
In July 2022, the “Soso” hitmaker revealed that he engaged in a sexual relationship with his therapist, further exacerbating his depression. He also disclosed that he experienced severe depression and contemplated suicide while recording his last album, “Boy Alone.”
In October 2023, during an interview, Omah Lay raised eyebrows by expressing his lack of belief in any religion and mentioned that he had considered converting to Islam at one point.
Adding more insight into his struggles, Omah Lay shared a post on his verified X (formerly Twitter) page on January 22, 2023.
In the post, he expressed his financial struggles, stating that he is deficient in money. He pleaded with his God to bless him with more money, emphasizing his need for financial stability.
He wrote, “God! I need more money please 🙏🏾.”
