Nigerian superstar Burna Boy’s ‘Love, Damini‘ has been named the most exported Afrobeats album on Spotify.
Music streaming has significantly aided the international exportation of Nigerian music, with Afrobeats now available to hundreds of millions of listeners worldwide, exposing Nigerian superstars to a global market.
Spotify announced the most exported Afrobeats records across its platforms in the most recent update to its Afrobeats dedicated website.
Nigerian megastar Burna Boy tops the list with his Grammy-nominated sixth album ‘Love, Damini‘ released in July 2022.
The album delivered the mega-hit song ‘Last Last‘ as well as other hits in ‘For Your Hand’ feat Ed Sheeran, and ‘Its Plenty’.
Other albums on the list are Wizkid’s fourth album “Made In Lagos,” Rema’s first album “Raves & Roses,” CKay’s “CKay The First” EP, and Rema’s “Calm Down” EP, all of which produced massive international blockbuster hits with the singles “Calm Down,” “Love Nwantiti,” and “Essence,” respectively.
