Divine Ikubor, also known as Rema, has acknowledged D Prince, a vocalist and the head of the Jonzing World record label, for having a key factor in his success.

On Sunday night, the “Calm Down” singer posted a picture of himself and D’Prince clutching plaques for Rema’s songs on his Instagram page.

Rema stated in the caption that there will be no him without the Jonzing World boss.

“Without D’prince they’ll be no me. @dprincemavin @thejonzingworld,” he captioned the post.

Rema began his musical career with Alpha P in churches.

Rema shared a popular freestyle in 2018 to D’Prince’s song “Gucci Gang,” which also included Davido and Don Jazzy.

D’Prince was drawn to the post and sent him on a flight to Lagos to woo the young musician with a record deal.

Rema signed a record deal with D’Prince’s Jonzing World, a subsidiary of Mavin Records owned by record producer Don Jazzy in 2019.

Rema’s “Calm Down” remix climbs seven spots to No. 28 in the most recent Billboard Hot 100, up from No. 35 the previous week. The song has been on the charts for 21 weeks and continues to be very popular in the US.

The song “Calm Down” by Rema becomes the first to spend 22 weeks at the top of the Billboard Afrobeats chart, making history.
