Thiago Silva has agreed to a contract extension with Chelsea.
According to reports, Thiago Silva has agreed to the terms of a contract extension at Chelsea.
The 38-year-old has been one of a select few players to stand out at Stamford Bridge this season, defying his advancing years with some commanding performances in central defence.
He has established himself as the linchpin of Graham Potter’s defence, giving the youngster from January the experience and seniority needed to play beside him. He also made a significant contribution to Brazil at the recent 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
At the end of the current season, Silva’s current contract in west London will expire, but it knows that he is prepared to sign a contract extension because he and his family are loving life in the city.

The former Paris Saint-Germain captain has generated interest from elsewhere but is ready to commit to the Blues for another season – a contract until the summer of 2024 would take Silva through to just shy of his 40th birthday.
Committing Silva to a new contract would be a huge boost for Potter, who is still finding his feet at Chelsea after a difficult start to his tenure.
Mykhailo Mudryk and Noni Madueke were welcomed to Chelsea by the former Brighton manager during the January transfer window, but the Blues are just hanging onto a spot in the top half of the Premier League after winning just eight of their first 20 games.
Last time out, a 0-0 draw against Liverpool was secured, and Silva once again proved his value with an amazing defensive performance.
