    On Saturday at the 2022 World Cup, history was made when Youssef En-spectacular Nesyri’s header handed Morocco a tense 1-0 victory over Portugal and advanced them to the World Cup semifinals.

    Morocco became the first ever African team to reach the World Cup semifinals with a dramatic 1-0 victory over Portugal at Al Thumama Stadium, Qatar, thanks to Youssef En-first-half Nesyri’s header.

    The Sevilla forward’s headed effort in the 42nd minute was enough to send Cristiano Ronaldo and company packing and drove the sizable Moroccan section of supporters mad.

    The winner of France and England will play Walid Regragui’s record-breakers in the semi-final on Wednesday.

    Joao Felix’s deflected shot drifted agonizingly wide with goalkeeper Bono clearly outmatched as Portugal’s first opportunity.

    Three minutes before halftime, En-Nesyri broke the tie after twice coming close earlier in the half. Diogo Costa, the goalkeeper for Portugal, was trapped in a no-land man’s when Yahih Attiyat Allah crossed the ball, and En-

    Nesyri took full advantage by heading home very splendidly to excite the African fans. It was a magical moment for Morocco but one to forget for Portugal.

    After the final whistle, Ronaldo walked back into the dressing room with tears.
