David Beckham has reportedly contacted Cristiano Ronaldo’s management about a surprise transfer to Inter Miami despite the forward’s fiery criticism of Manchester United.

The 37-year-old seems to have ruined his relationships at Old Trafford after accusing the organization’s leadership of “betraying” him and declaring he would “never respect” manager Erik ten Hag.

Before making a decision, United are seeking legal counsel. They also want to see the entire 90-minute interview when it airs on Wednesday. However, they are reportedly considering terminating Ronaldo’s contract.

The Sun reports that Beckham now has a chance to convince the five-time Ballon d’Or winner to move to Florida.

The owner of Inter Miami has long harboured the desire to sign either Lionel Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo to a contract with his MLS team, and now he may have the chance to sign both players.

Following Ronaldo’s contentious interview with Piers Morgan, some teams may have been discouraged from signing him, but Beckham responded by getting in touch with Ronaldo’s agents.

It would be a mistake to pass up the chance to sign the former Real Madrid and Juventus front for nothing in January, especially since Gonzalo Higuain, their previous star forward, has announced his retirement.

Despite rumours that Ronaldo wants to stay in Europe and thinks he can play for a Champions League-caliber club, his entourage informed Beckham that Ronaldo would be open to moving to the United States.

Ronaldo’s contract being terminated by United would not just interest Inter Miami; LAFC and LA Galaxy would also make proposals to bring Ronaldo to the United States.

According to The Sun, Beckham would be a “huge lure” for the veteran forward, and while criticizing brother Gary in his interview with Morgan, he would not object to working for current head coach Phil Neville.

Ronaldo is currently just concerned with representing Portugal in the World Cup, and after the competition is complete, a decision will be made regarding his future.

Following their successes in Qatar, United will give all of their players a week off, thus the earliest the story will likely end is on December 9 – a week after Portugal’s final group game, should they decide to go early.

Beckham has made an approach to sign Ronaldo, but Messi, who he has courted for some time, remains his top choice. Beckham may attempt to persuade the two former Clasico rivals to play together, which would be a huge coup for Major League Soccer.
