Ghanaian highlife and afrobeats singer-songwriter Gregory Bortey Newman, better known by his stage name King Promise, has revealed the inspiration behind his second studio album “5 Star”.
The Ghanaian musician has finally dropped his second studio album titled “5STAR.”
The 15-track “5 Star Album” was created by King Promise, a signee with Legacy Life Entertainment, and features American rappers Vic Mensa and Chance The Rapper as well as some notable figures from the African music scene, including Patoranking, Headie One, Frenna, Omah Lay, Bisa KDei, and WSTRN.
The album has dominated charts and some digital streaming platforms and continues to achieve greatness in the music market.

In an interview with Hitz FM’s Daybreak Hitz’s ace media icon, Andy Dosty, King Promise claimed that he feels his music has reached a point where he needs to focus on quality rather than quantity.
According to him, the direction of his music has completely changed, and instead of concentrating on what is popular or trending, he should direct his work toward creating original, high-quality sounds.
The sensational singer added that he gathered all the lessons and skills he has learnt over the years in his music to organically produce his “5 Star Album”.
He Said:
“I feel like we’ve gotten to a point where the music is on that level, where is of that good quality because I’m not following trend, it’s very organic and we took our time to make it with all the experiences and stuff I’ve learnt over the years”,
