Femi Kuti Reacts to Grammy-Related Post Following Recent Loss
Femi Anikulapo Kuti, the legendary Afrobeat singer, songwriter, performer, and instrumentalist, has responded to a post following his recent loss at the 64th Grammy Awards.
The 59-year-old artist, who is also the son of Nigerian afrobeat pioneer Fela Anikulapo Kuti, was nominated for two Grammy Awards in 2022.
In the Best Global Music Performance category, his song “Pà Pá Pà” was nominated, but he lost to Pakistani artist Arooj Aftab.
In the Best Global Music Album category, the ace singer’s double album with his son Made Kuti, named “Legacy,” was also nominated, but they lost to Beninese renowned singer Angélique Kidjo, who won with her “Mother Nature” album.
Femi, who has been nominated for the Grammys no less than five times and hasn’t won any yet, reacted to a comic Grammy-related Twitter post.
A fan posted a funny meme video that insinuated how tired Femi Kuti will be if he is nominated for another Grammy.
