Ed Sheeran has let the cat out of the bag, revealing that he will be a surprise guest on the remix of Fireboy DML’s big hit “Peru“.
Ed Sheeran, a Grammy-winning singer, songwriter, and recording artist from the United Kingdom has disclosed that he is featured on Fireboy DML’s big track “Peru.”
Recall that Fireboy teased his fans lately by revealing that he will feature a London-based performer on the remix of Shizzi-produced big hit “Peru.”
In an interview with Elton John, the iconic English singer, pianist, and songwriter, Ed Sheeran revealed the specifics of the feature.
During the fifteen-minute conversation on Apple Music’s “Rocket Hour” platform, Sheeran discussed how he collaborated with Elton John on a festive single, among other topics.
The “Bad Habit” singer explained how he came to be featured by Fireboy DML, a Nigerian phenomenal singer, songwriter, and performer, by saying that a friend showed him the original song and told him that the YBNL star would love to have him on the remix.
He went on to say how much he enjoys the song and how he has been listening to it nonstop.
According to Ed Sheeran,
So I got sent this a week ago, to remix it. Someone, a friend of mine, Jamal [Edwards] who runs SBTV sent it to me.
He said, “Fireboy DML would love you on the remix of this song.” And I’ve just found it really intriguing. So I recorded a verse for it… and it’s a song that’s blowing up in Nigeria and Ghana at the moment and their club scene runs over Christmas.

So you basically put a song to the club in the middle of December, which would seem a weird thing to do in England. But yeah, so I’ve done the remix for this song, but this is the original and it’s just, it’s an earworm, and it’s addictive, and I’m obsessed with it. I mean, Cherry will tell you, I’ve had this song on repeat constantly in the house for the last week.
This is not the first time Ed Sheeran will be making music with a Nigerian, as he previously featured on ‘Own it” alongside Grammy-winning Afrobeats star Burna Boy in 2019, by UK heavyweight rapper Stormzy.
