The Nigerian Basketball Federation (NBBF) has dedicated the recent victories of the male and female basketball teams to the late Nigerian veteran artiste Sound Sultan.
After Nigeria’s men’s basketball team, D’Tigers thrashed Argentina on Monday, the Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBBF) paid a glowing tribute to Sound Sultan.
In an exhibition in Las Vegas, the D’Tigers defeated fourth-ranked Argentina 94-71 in preparation for the upcoming Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
This victory comes just hours after they stunned the basketball world by defeating Team USA, who are known to have the best NBA players, 90-87.
NBBF dedicated Nigeria’s big wins over the United States and Argentina to the late veteran musician, Sound Sultan, on their verified Twitter account.
“We dedicate the victories against US & Argentina to late Olanrewaju Fasasi (@Soundsultan). You saw this day coming when Nigeria would become a dominant force in global basketball. Ironically, the day we won against @usabasketball, that was when you gave up the ghost. RIP”.
