Veteran Ghanian singer popularly known as “Tic Tac” threatens to sue Nigerian music star; Wizkid for alleged copyright infringement.
Nana Kwaku Okyere Duah aka Tic Tac during a recent interview revealed plans to sue Wizkid for illegally jacking off parts of his song.
According to him; Wizkid remixed his old song; “‘Fefe Ne Efe” featuring Tony Tetuila which was released about fifteen years ago.
He also claimed that the “Ghetto love” singer used his chorus in the song mentioned earlier on his verse of DJ Tunez’s “Gbese”.
The hit song; “Gbese” was released early this year, featuring Wizkid and Blaq Jerzee.
Tic Tac added that he had contacted Wizkid‘s management earlier, and they had made an agreement to settle him. However, they didn’t keep to their end of the bargain.
Shedding more light on the case; he said;
” “As a matter of fact, the lawyers are working on it. There have been some discussions… if they don’t pay of course I will sue them. Some figures mentioned but, there are some other things going on”.
Almost every day, we hear cases of copyright infringement, that’s very bad!. We should always try to do the right thing at all times to avoid situations like this. Trust me, it wouldn’t cost too much.
We, however, hope they find a way to settle this out of court.
