Carlo Ancelotti hails Vinicius Junior as ‘the most decisive player in the world’.
Vinicius Junior received glowing comments from Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti for his performance in Tuesday night’s 5-2 victory against Liverpool.
Los Blancos started this round of 16 first leg at Anfield with the worst possible performance in a replay of last year’s Champions League final. Early on, Darwin Nunez gave the Reds the lead before Thibaut Courtois assisted Mohamed Salah with his second goal.
Then, though, Real Madrid sprang to life. Vinicius scored an impressive long-range goal to equalize before beating Alisson with a goal that was very identical to Salah’s. Just after the half, Eder Militao gave the visitors the lead, and Karim Benzema sealed the victory with a pair of goals.

Speaking to the press post-match, Ancelotti spoke glowingly about his star Brazilian winger.
“Right now, I think he [Vinicius] is the most decisive player in the world,” Ancelotti said.
“Everything he does is a dribble away from a defender, an assist or a goal, and he does it for the full 90 minutes. He just never stops.”
Upon returning to the Santiago Bernabeu with a certain three-goal lead, Ancelotti reiterated his conviction that the match is still not finished.
“For Real Madrid, and it has always been like this, the Champions League is the most important competition for the club, so that is felt in the preparation for these games,” he added.
“It is certainly not over yet, we have done well in the first part of the tie, but the second is still to be played and anything can happen.”
