Olamide ceases to drop an album, or an EP throughout the year, and this is so unlike him, what is really going on?
Asides his wonderful habit of dropping hits back to back regularly, Olamide is also known for dropping massive projects as the year goes by.
This year, however, seems to be different as the very talented rapper didn’t release a single project for his fans.
Even though he has dropped some singles, what about a collective piece of work like an album or EP??
To buttress my point, let’s quickly talk about some of his album from previous years
2011- Rapsodi
Rapsodi is Olamide‘s first studio album released in 2011 when he was still signed to ID Cabasa’s Coded Tunes. it marked the beginning of his music career.
The 16-track album featured guest appearances from artists like Wizkid, 9ice, Reminisce, I.D Cabasa, Terry Da Rapman, and Pheelz.
It was nominated for Best Rap Album at The Headies 2012, however, it didn’t win as reported by us at “Mp3bullet.ng”
2012- YBNL
Olamide released this album the same year he established his record Label; YBNl, an abbreviation of “Yahoo Boy No Laptop”

2018- YBNL Mafia Family
According to us at “Mp3bullet.ng” this is a collaboration album between Olamide and members of the YBNL record label in 2018.
The ‘YBNL Mafia Family’ album was made up of 14 solid tracks done by Olamide, DJ Enimoney, Limerick, Temmie Ovwasa, Picazo, Fireboy DML, and Yomi Blaze. There was also additional collaboration from Kizz Daniel, LK Kuddy, Kranium, and Lil Kesh.
Pheelz, Killertunes, Cracker Mallo and 2Kris all got credit for the production on the album, with all songs mixed and mastered by Zeeno Foster.
Another special aspect of this album is that it introduced Fireboy DML to the music industry in a grand style. This is due to the release of his hit song; “jealous”, a track in the album.
2019- No album from Olamide yet?
Having read this far, I’m sure you notice that Olamide made it a ritual to drop solid albums every year!
Hence you can’t blame us if we are puzzled as to why we haven’t heard from his this year.
Yes, he may have dropped a couple of chart-topping jams like; “Woske“, “Oil & Gas”, and the rest of them, but is that enough??
I don’t know why, but something tells me Olamide is trying to gently retire from the music scene. However, I really do not believe it.
Moreover, the year is not over yet, Who knows, baba can just drop an album tomorrow
Still, what do you guys think about this Olamide’s album absence??
