Wizkid and Tems have both been nominated for the Best African Act category at the MTV EMAs in 2021.
Wizkid and Tems will compete for the Best African Act award at the MTV EMAs in 2021, alongside Diamond Platnumz and Amaarae. The list was released on Wednesday, October 20th, 2021.
The two Nigerian Music stars have had an incredible year thanks to their collaboration, Essence off Big Wiz’s Made in Lagos album, charting on a number of international charts.
As a result, they’re both doing their own US tours and even playing at each other’s shows.
Essence was also earned platinum status in the United States, with plaques presented to them following Wizkid’s performance in Los Angeles, which Tems also attended.
Meanwhile, Wizkid and Tems are among five African artists nominated for the Best African Act category in 2021.
Tanzania’s Diamond Platnumz, Ghana’s Amaarae, and South Africa’s Focalistic, who has recently championed the amapiano sound, are among the other musicians in this category.
