Willian agrees to join Saudi side just two weeks after signing Fulham contract – but Premier League side not interested in selling.
Despite signing an agreement with Fulham just two weeks prior, Willian reportedly opted to join Al-Shabab.
The Brazilian winger signed a new contract at Craven Cottage on July 17 that would keep him there through the summer of 2019.
However, The Telegraph reports that the player was persuaded to move to Asia by Saudi Club Al-Shabab, who offered him a salary that was double what he was receiving in England.
After a strong campaign in which he scored five goals and provided six assists, Fulham is reluctant to let the 34-year-old leave the Premier League club and will want a transfer fee.
The Cottagers are also dealing with interest in other players, including star striker Aleksandar Mitrovic, who has expressed his desire to move to Al-Hilal. Meanwhile, manager Marco Silva was approached by Al-Ahli but decided to turn down the offer and remains committed to Fulham.
Although Al-Shabab has not yet made a formal offer to Fulham, talks will begin if Willian submits a transfer request.
