Nigerian music sensation Yemi Alade has fulfilled a long-held dream as she takes the stage at the opening ceremony of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
The opening ceremony, held on Saturday, January 13, marked the launch of the 33rd edition of the prestigious continental tournament, with hosts Cote d’Ivoire facing Sierra Leone at the 60,000-seater Stade Olympique Alassane Ouattara in Abidjan.
Yemi Alade’s performance included singing the 2023 AFCON theme song, showcasing her talent, and contributing to the vibrant celebration of the tournament’s commencement.
