UCL: Supercomputer names favourite club to win the trophy this season.
Manchester City has been predicted as the current favourites to win the UEFA Champions League this season by a supercomputer run by a team of data scientists at ABC News’ FiveThirtyEight, following a strong start to life in both the Premier League and the European top-tier tournament thus far.
Champions League joint-top scorer Erling Haaland has added an extra dimension to Man City’s attack this season.
The Norwegian has already scored 17 goals across all competitions for Pep Guardiola’s side.
Man City will face Copenhagen on Wednesday in their next Champions League tie at Etihad Stadium.

The Supercomputer now projects that Guardiola’s team has a 22% chance of taking first place this season, ahead of Bayern Munich (20%, in second place), and Paris Saint-Germain (13%, in third place).
Also given a 37% chance to reach the final this term, the Citizens of course only did so on one previous occasion, losing out to Chelsea in 2021 final in Porto.
The next Premier League team on the list is Liverpool in fifth position with just 7% chance, while both Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea have been given just a 2% chance of being declared Europe’s best side this season.
