UCL: How Real Madrid will approach second-leg against Manchester City – Luka Modric.
Luka Modric, a midfielder for Real Madrid, has shared his team’s strategy ahead of their matchup against Manchester City in the second leg of their UEFA Champions League semifinal on Wednesday at the Etihad Stadium.
Real Madrid and Manchester City tied 1-1 in the first leg of the Champions League semifinal on Tuesday night, with Modric playing a part.
At the Santiago Bernabeu, Real Madrid and Man City were forced to a draw thanks to two goals each from Vinicius and Kevin de Bruyne.
Speaking to UEFA after the game (via BBC), Modric said Carlo Ancelotti’s side would enter the second leg with the same confidence and optimism that they can beat Man City in England.
“We merited a better result than this. But we will enter the second leg with the same confidence and optimism that we can win over there.
“Neither team comes away from this with a big advantage. The tie is open, about 50-50 – and we were pretty sure that nothing would be settled tonight,” Modric said.
The second leg of Real Madrid’s Champions League semi-final will be played at the Etihad Stadium the following Wednesday after their match against Getafe on Saturday.
