Bella Shmurda’s Alleged $4 Million Property Scam Is False, Old Video Misrepresented

Reports claiming that Nigerian singer Bella Shmurda lost $4 million in an alleged real estate scam have been debunked after it emerged that the viral video being circulated online is from 2023 and has no connection to any recent property transaction.
The claim gained traction after a social media user shared an old clip of the singer during an Instagram Live session, falsely alleging that he broke down in tears after discovering that a Lagos mansion he purchased for $4 million had been sold to him by someone who was not the rightful owner.
The post also attributed statements to Bella Shmurda claiming he had lost his life savings and that the alleged seller had disappeared after the transaction.
However, a source close to the singer has dismissed the story as entirely false, explaining that the video predates the claims by several years.
According to the source, the footage was originally recorded in 2023 during an Instagram Live session following the death of fellow Nigerian artist Mohbad and has no link to any real estate deal.
“This is fake news. We are not sure where the agenda came from. That video is from 2023,” the source said.
The clarification comes after the misleading post spread widely across social media, sparking concern among fans of the Afrobeats star.
As of the time of filing this report, Bella Shmurda has not publicly addressed the viral claim, while there has been no indication that legal action will be taken against those responsible for circulating the false story.
