Tottenham owner Joe Lewis tells Daniel Levy to slam Kane with a contract ultimatum
Tottenham Hotspur owner Joe Lewis has instructed chairman Daniel Levy to issue a contract ultimatum to star striker Harry Kane amidst ongoing transfer links to Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain (PSG).
With Kane entering the last year of his contract, Spurs are trying to convince him to sign an extension. However, Manchester United and Bayern Munich have also expressed interest in signing him this summer. But The Telegraph reported that the club will warn Kane that he will be sold this summer if he refuses to agree to a new deal.
While Daniel Levy has publicly stated that Kane will not be sold, owner Joe Lewis has reportedly decided that the England star will not be allowed to run down his contract and leave on a free transfer next year. The club will either secure a new deal with him or accept an offer from one of the interested clubs, similar to the ultimatum PSG gave to Kylian Mbappe.
Although Manchester United’s interest in Kane may have diminished due to Levy’s £100 million valuation, the new stance from Spurs could potentially reignite interest from Bayern Munich. PSG might also join the race as they search for a potential replacement for Mbappe.
Amidst the transfer speculation, Kane is participating in his team’s pre-season preparations, and both the player and the club are hoping for a resolution to his contract situation soon.
