Fast-rising Nigerian singer Shoday has shared his honest thoughts on wealth, fame, and the realities of life, sparking conversations among fans and listeners.

The 26-year-old made the remarks during a recent appearance on the Wahala Podcast, where he spoke candidly about what truly matters to him at this stage of his career. According to the singer, financial stability holds far more value than public recognition.

In his view, money plays a dominant role in shaping life outcomes, arguing that it can address the majority of everyday challenges people face. He also suggested that wealth influences relationships and access to opportunities in ways many people may not openly admit.

    He stated:

“If you have money, you can solve about 90% of life’s problems. There’s almost nothing you can’t do with money. You can even afford surrogates if you can’t have a child, money can buy love too. The only thing money can’t buy is life itself. That’s the 10% money can’t solve, but for everything else, money can do it all. Go broke and see for yourself. Money is everything. The moment it’s gone, no one loves you anymore. I’d rather have a lot of money than be famous. It’s better to be low-key with wealth than be everywhere. It’s draining sometimes,” he stated.

Shoday’s comments reflect a growing sentiment among some young entertainers who are beginning to prioritise privacy and long-term financial security over the pressures that come with constant visibility.

His remarks have since generated mixed reactions online, with some agreeing with his perspective on wealth, while others argue that money alone cannot guarantee genuine happiness or meaningful relationships.
