Here are the top Epic collaborations some Nigerian musical duos have blessed us with
Ghost Mode- Phyno, Olamide
When Phyno and Olamide first collaborated on “Ghost Mode” in 2012, not many realized that it would become the start of a friendship rarely seen in the Industry.
While the two have given fans various hits like “Fada Fada”, “Onyeoma”, “Alignment” etc, “Ghost Mode‘ was the foundation of their musical chemistry.
Besides song still contains a form of hardcore that Olamide and Phyno rarely show on both their solos and collaborations.
Soldier- Falz X Simi
The first time these two first caught attention with their partnership was on Simi’s 2015 “Jamb Question.” However, tongues started wagging after the release of “Soldier” in 2016.
The song sparked dating rumours between the two as a result of the intense chemistry both artists displayed on both the song and the music video.
“Soldier,” tells the story of a Soldier (Played by Falz) who returns to his hometown with the intention of capturing the heart of his nonchalant love interest (Played by Simi).
Aside from its visuals, the song also had a short movie that accompanied it directed by renowned director Clarence Peters.
The song was an instant hit thanks to its hilarious storyline, catchy lyrics and bants between the two artists.
Capitalizing on the attention they were getting, they released a joint EP titled “Chemistry” in 2016.
Malo- Tiwa Savage X Wizkid
While every partnership on this list has gotten favourable reviews, these two on the other hand had people butting heads over their closeness.
Tiwa Savage had featured Wizkid on “Bad” in 2017 but it was their collaboration, ‘Malo” released in 2018 that got people wondering if there was more to their friendship.
Produced by Spellz, “Malo” was a love-themed song that oozed enough chemistry to get one falling in love. The song felt like two lovers writing letters to themselves and listeners just stumbled into an illicit affair.
The Best- Davido X Mayorkun
It’s hard to pick a favourite when it comes to this music duo as they create hits anytime they collaborate.
The two often give off a Father-son or Mentor-Disciple chemistry, although Davido was technically Mayorkun’s boss.
While their partnership has produced songs like “Betty Butter”, “Bobo”, “Prayer“, “I Have a Friend“, for this list the focus will be on “The Best”
“The Best” is a story about the impactful bond and chemistry the two have developed over the years. Mayorkun sings about how he learnt from the Best (Davido).
Tungba- Ajebutter22 X BOJ
The alte scene has a lot of fast-rising acts that are pushing its popularity to the frontline. BOJ and Ajebutter22 are known accomplices in music for their melodious collaborations.
Their collaborations are a fans’ delight. From ‘Omo Pastor’ to ‘Tungba’, to their collaborative EPs, ‘Make e no cause fight 1&2’, these two hold audience captive with their crazy chemistry.
“Tungba” one of their commercially successful collaborations is a smooth rhythm that sees the two dishing out lyrics on their true intentions for their lovers.
Olulufe- Flavour X Chidinma
Just like Tiwa Savage and Wizkid, Flavour and Chidinma have gotten tongues wagging about their intense chemistry. It became louder after the two shared a kiss on the visuals of Flavour’s “Olulufe.”
When these two work together, it’s like a Nigerian take on a Disney romance animated film.
The song alone was already raising eyebrows with its intense and emotional lyrics, the visuals made it more interesting.
From ‘Ololufe‘ through ‘Oh Baby(remix),’ ‘Mama,’ and their 2020 joint EP, “40 Yrs Everlasting,” these two have never failed to convince us that they could have been lovers in a different situation.
Although, one isn’t sure if we get another collaboration from the two given Chidimna recently switched to gospel music.

Am I a Yahoo Biy- Naira Marley X Zlatan
Naira Marley and Zlatan are like fraternal twins from different mothers. They stormed the industry almost at the same time, impact the street hop music scene and got arrested together in 2019.
Even with the many obstacles and scandals that have faced them individually, the two have been successful in maximizing their friendship and turning it into good music.
The most interesting song to come out of their partnership is the 2019 controversial song, “Am I a Yahoo Boy” which birthed catchy slang, punchlines and conflicted reactions.
