“It Was Disrespectful” — Tiwa Savage speaks on male colleague who wanted her but still chased other ladies
Afrobeats superstar Tiwa Savage has reflected on a past relationship with a fellow male celebrity, describing the experience as both “confusing” and “disrespectful.”
Speaking in a recent interview, Tiwa revealed that the man pushed for their romance to remain private, claiming he didn’t want people to suspect anything. However, his behavior in public left her unsettled.
According to her, while attending events together, he would openly mingle with other women—chatting, rubbing shoulders, and “working the room”—all while giving her signals that it was just a cover.
She explained:
“No, it’s a disrespect. I’m a public figure and he is as well. Oh my God, I hope he doesn’t. So he did this thing where he’s just like, I don’t want us to go public because I don’t want people to know and all that kind of stuff. So I’m like, okay, cool.
Then it was like, okay, when we go out, I might be talking to other people, but I’m just doing it so people don’t suspect. And I was like, okay, but how far are you going with this? He got that one off, he had it good. Yeah, and we might be in the same event, and he’s… working the room.
Yeah, probably talking, rubbing, and I’m there, and he’s still looking at me like, I’m just doing it. And I can’t say nothing. I mean, you can’t. And it’s in front of me.”
Although Tiwa Savage refrained from revealing the identity of the artist, many fans online have speculated that her description points to Wizkid, given past rumours linking the pair.
For Tiwa, the experience was a lesson in boundaries and respect, underscoring the challenges of navigating love in the public eye.
