    Timi Dakolo reveals plans to enter politics

    Timi Dakolo reveals plans to enter politics

    Nigerian singer, Timi Dakolo has revealed his plans to enter politics and run for an office in his state of origin.

    The singer took to Twitter on the 27th of February, two days after the 2023 Presidential elections took place to state his intentions.

    According to him, he intends to purchase the Gubernatorial form under Labour Party for his home state, Bayelsa.

    This comes after Labour Party saw some of its candidates win at the recently held Presidential and Federal Parliament elections on the 25th of February, 2023.

    Nigerian singer, Banky W, unfortunately, lost his chances at winning the Eti-Osa Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives as the candidate of the Labour Party, Mr Thaddeus Attah has been proclaimed the victor by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

    The announcement was made on Sunday at the Collation Center of the Lagos State Model Nursery and Primary School in Marwa, Lekki 1. Prof Funmilayo Odukoya, the INEC Returning Officer.

    With 24,075 votes, Attah defeated his rivals Mr Babjide Obanikoro of the APC, who received 16,901 votes, and Mr. Olubankole Wellington (Banky W), a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who received 18,666 votes.
