Nigerian highlife sensation, The Cavemen has revealed the artist that inspired them to do music while they were young.
The duo revealed in an interview with TheNation that when they were younger, they grew up listening to soulful artist Asa, who also inspired them to pursue a career in music.
Recall, The Orlu, Imo State natives emerged winners of the Best Alternative Album category at the 14th Headies award.
In an exclusive chat with The Nation, the musical brothers described the France-based Nigerian singer as an inspiration.
One of half of the group, Kingsley Okorie said.
“We’ve always been listening to Asa since we were young. She is a good inspiration to us and we hope that she continues getting more grace,”.

The band stated that the acceptance of folk music among generation Z had exceeded their expectations.
“Definitely, it is beyond our expectations. We felt deep inside our hearts that the world needed our kind of music. It is music that we always wanted to hear even as an individual and music lovers.
He added: “We really focus on making the making and the feelings of the music. That was wants drove us to this point.”
On the highpoint of their career so far, who is a singer and guitarist stated that it is everything that has been happening to them as a band.
