Teniola Apata, often known as Teni, has reacted to reports flying around after her performance was disrupted by gunshots in Rivers state.
During her show in Rivers state, Teni was forced to stop performing her hit song ‘Super Power‘ after gunshots rang out, sending everyone fleeing for safety.
The footage went viral on social media, with users claiming there was an attempt to kidnap the singer.
The acting spokesman for the state police command, Grace Iringe-Koko, confirmed the incident but said Teni was rescued by security operatives unhurt.
“The police division there in Buguma has been mandated to fish out those behind the attack. We will ensure they are brought to book,” she stated.
Teni, on the other hand, has denied the rumours, claiming that a brawl broke out backstage, resulting in the stampede.
The “Case” singer assured the audience that she and her crew are safe on her Instagram profile today, January 3rd, 2021.
Reacting to the incident, the singer took to her Instagram story on Monday to state that it could’ve been a different story.

She wrote, “(It) could have been a different story entirely but I’m grateful to God.
“Myself and entire team are safe and back home now. Thanks for the calls and messages.”
Also taking to her Instagram page, the ever-playful Teni shared a video at the airport where she was seen running towards the plane, stating that she was running home after the incident.
