Teni explains why she calls the names of richest Nigerians in her songs.
Teniola Apata popularly known as Teni the entertainer is a fast-rising music act in Nigeria.
The singer’s growth in the industry was, however, a steady one.
She was first known for her first single titled “Fargin “, another titled “Askamaya”, and “Pray for me“, but was not all that popular as at then.
Teni however, fully came into the limelight, when she dropped her hit single, titled “Case“.
After case, she dropped several chart-topping hits like “Uyo meyo“, “Wait“, “Power Rangers“, “Billionaire“, and the latest, “Super Woman”
Teni is particularly known for calling and singing praises to Nigerian billionaires like; Femi Otedola, Aliko Dangote, and Adedeji Adeleke.
Some people, however, were in the opinion that Teni mentioned Dangote and Otedola’s names in her recent song titled ‘Billionaire’ to get money from the two businessmen.
The singer however shut down these critics saying the song was meant to encourage people to live their best lives.
She made this statement during an interview with the Punch.
Her exact words were;
“This project basically encourages people to lead their best lives, achieve their dreams and generally enjoy what life has to offer. No doubt, life has its challenges, but sometimes, one just needs to take a break and enjoy it”
She also added that she grew up being exposed to a lot of culture and an essential part of them was praise-singing people.
Teni admitted that she loved this practice and decided to incorporate it into her songs .
