Nigerian singer and two-time Grammy winner Tems is set to take the stage at the 2025 Roots Picnic, joining an impressive lineup that includes neo-soul legend D’Angelo, rock icon Lenny Kravitz, rap stars Meek Mill, Latto, and Glorilla, as well as Miguel, Kaytranada, and British-Sudanese artist Elmiene.
Hosted by the legendary American hip-hop band, The Roots, the festival will return to Philadelphia’s Fairmont Park for its 17th edition, taking place from May 31 to June 1.
This year’s festival will also commemorate the 30th anniversary of The Roots’ groundbreaking sophomore album.
Tems, who toured five continents in support of her debut album ‘Born in the Wild‘ last year, is no stranger to high-profile performances, having graced major stages such as Coachella and Glastonbury Festival in 2023.
Her inclusion in this star-studded lineup follows in the footsteps of fellow African artists who have performed at the Roots Picnic, with previous highlights including Wizkid’s standout performance alongside Mary J. Blige and Summer Walker in 2022, despite Tylah having to cancel her set last year due to injury.
