Skepta’s “Jangrova” makes a strong debut at No. 28 on Nigeria’s Top 100 chart.
British-Nigerian artist Skepta’s latest single, “Jangrova,” has made an impressive debut at No. 28 on Turntable’s Nigeria Top 100 chart. The song features hip-hop artist Odumodublvck and British actor/rapper Idris Elba.
“Jangrova” is part of Skepta’s directorial debut for the film “Tribal Mark,” which premiered on January 26, 2024. The movie explores the poignant journey of a Nigerian immigrant adapting to life in a foreign country and incorporates elements of an undercover Black Secret Service. The cast includes emerging black actors, with Jude Carmichael playing the protagonist, Young Mark.

This debut marks Skepta’s fifth entry on the official singles chart in Nigeria and his first as a lead artist. Alongside the single’s success, Skepta revealed that his sixth studio album, titled “Knife and Fork,” is set to be released in 2024, marking his first full-length album since 2019.
